How can we find new ways in which all industries generate mechanisms for C02e reduction and less emission through High Voltage Power Transmission in order to contribute to climate change and thus save our planet?

CONTEXT OF THE PROBLEM

Currently, the world is constantly searching of ways to reduce CO2 emissions in order to take care of our planet and avoid an early climate disaster on a global scale. The country's CO2 emissions for the year 2020 was of 44,479 megatons. This has placed Peru in the 128th place in the ranking of countries emitting the most CO2 emissions. This list is formed by 184 countries. In this list, countries are ordered from least to most polluting. As part of a country challenge, at ISA REP, we seek to compensate and reduce our carbon footprint. Therefore, we will offset 384 TN of CO2 by 2021. However, we seek to go further and we hope to be a helpful actor in the country's energy transition. We also want to help all industries to contribute to this change and take care of the planet. As we are present in 21 departments, we have set ourselves the challenge of seeking new ways to create mechanisms to reduce and emit less CO2 through the transmission of energy at high voltage.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

The problem is the increase of CO2 emissions in Peru, and the little knowledge of the energy transition in Peruvian industries.

FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM

The country's CO2 emissions in 2020 were of 44,479 megatons. This has placed Peru in the 128th place in the list of countries ranked by CO2 emissions.

PARTIAL SOLUTIONS

We have implemented the Jaguar Connection program. This ISA program in Latin America is carried out in conjunction with rural communities. This program consists of the implementation of the carbon component in forest recovery, and preservation projects for the reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG). This program focuses mainly on priority areas for the protection, recovery and connection of natural habitats and jaguar corridors in Latin America. These territories are the same ones where ISA is present.

In addition, in this year 2022, we have carried out an Innovation Challenge just for our collaborators: "Eco-efficiency Challenge". The challenge of this program was: How could we design and implement new solutions that transform our day-to-day life, leading us to reduce water and/or energy consumption in our substations? Currently, this program is still under development.

IMPACT OF THE PROBLEM
